About this program
The W Trek Alternative is our most relaxed and accessible program — ideal for travelers who want to experience the magic of Torres del Paine without the physical demands of 5 consecutive hiking days. You'll still see all three iconic highlights of the W (Paine Towers, French Valley views, and Grey Glacier), but through a combination of a guided hike, a full-day park tour by vehicle, and a boat excursion on Lake Grey.
Accommodation throughout is in lodges and ChileTour's own cabins — never camping. Every meal is included. This program is particularly popular with couples on honeymoon, families with children, or travelers combining Patagonia with a longer South America trip who want a comfortable base from which to explore the park.
Maximum 8 participants with private transport and a dedicated guide throughout.

Arrival in Puerto Natales
Transfer to Garden Domes. Welcome dinner and drinks at El Brisket, followed by your program briefing — what to expect each day, what to wear, what to pack for each excursion.

Base of the Towers Trek — 18 km · 7–8 hrs
Private ChileTour van into Torres del Paine. Trek to Mirador Base Torres with our guide. This is the most demanding day of the program — a long ascent rewards you with the stunning turquoise lagoon at the foot of the three granite towers.

Full-Day Paine Park Tour
Private guided vehicle tour of the park's most scenic viewpoints: Laguna Amarga (Chilean flamingos, Paine Tower reflections), Río Paine waterfalls (with guanacos and puma habitat), Lago Nordenskjöld lookout, Salto Grande waterfall, Hotel Explora boardwalk viewpoint, Hostería Pehoé lunch stop. Shorter hikes and wildlife walks can be combined depending on your group's energy.

Grey Glacier Boat Tour
A 3-hour boat journey across Lake Grey to the face of the Grey Glacier — massive blue ice walls and floating icebergs set against the Olguin mountain range. A relaxed, stunning alternative to hiking to the glacier that gives you a completely different perspective of the ice. Return by private transfer to Puerto Natales.
